Witch Weapon Rebuild
I played Witch Weapon near the end of its life cycle, and the story was really appealing to me. But I never got to finish it before the game died and became unplayable. I thought I'd only be able to experience the story through YouTube videos of the story mode. But I had the idea that if I could just get the assets used in the story mode, I could transcribe the story from the YouTube videos and display them in a VN engine to get a more authentic experience.
and then I didn't do anything about it for several years.
I remembered the idea recently, and with the help of some tools, I was able to find the files I needed in an old apk for the game, and get started.
So far I have completed Chapter 1, roughly. I've decided not to 'fix' any of the typos in the original game script, and to match the visuals closely.
Disclaimer: None of this is my IP, it all belongs to whoever owns Witch Weapon right now, I am not making any money off this, and will happily take this down if the IP holders don't like it.

OMG! I got into this long after it was dead and have been watching the story on youtube (link for others who want to see) but it would be really cool to have it in this form! I hope it will be downloadable. Good luck to you!
Minor note: His name shouldn't be Ren yet! Hopefully you can find a way to prompt user for the name that will be tossed out and replaced by Ren later, for the full effect.
oh for real? the waking up from a dream cutscene had him say ren junior so I thought that was his canon name
Wow, you're right that it says that there but it must be an error in the original? Because, see this part here:

The name you picked and got used to for almost two whole chapters... so you feel a sliver of what Ren is feeling, "Hey, wait, what, you changed my name?! You can't do that!" A feel possible to give the reader only in an interactive medium like this.
Just played through what's there so far, was good to be able to read this in interactive mode! Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
